Snowcubes are Taiwanese snowflake crisps, a nostalgic snack we first tried through Leo's mom. We were hooked.

At the time, Leo was laid off from his corporate job and I wanted something more hands-on and creative on the side. I was thinking about snowflake crisps, so one day I whipped up a batch. Just for kicks, I asked Leo, "What if we named these Snowcubes?"

We kept experimenting in the kitchen, changing the ingredients and adjusting the recipe until we found the texture and flavor we wanted to eat.

We put up a website and started sharing the snack. When people told us they enjoyed Snowcubes, it made our day.

We're still small: we make Snowcubes to order in our Queens kitchen. They cost more than mass-produced snowflake crisps because we use generous mix-ins and less marshmallow. That gives us the crisp bite and balance we want.

We form every cube by hand and pack it individually. It helps us keep the crisp-and-chewy bite we're after, so we make fewer boxes at a time.
